How much Louvre Roof cost? (2026 Update)

How much louvre roof cost?

So, you are looking at Louvre Roof for your louvered pergola, louvered gazebo, or louvered patio roof needs and not sure how much it will cost?

Quick Cost Overview — 2026

DIY & Fixed-Size Kits available in Market:

Please see note below prices are mentioned only to provide a quick guidance for price range for variety of louvre roof pergolas available in the market from different suppliers.

$2,500–9,000 for smaller fixed size louvre systems (e.g., 3x3m, 4x3m).

$4,000–16,000 for medium fixed size louvre systems (e.g., 4x4m, 5x3m, 5×4, 6×3, 6×4).

$5,500–24,000 for large fixed size louvre systems mostly multiple bays (e.g., 7x3m, 7x4m, 8×3, 8x4m).

DIY Custom size Kits

These are expensive in comparison to fixed size as custom size requires more effort to build and customisation can only be done in good quality louvre roofs i.e. lower quality louvre roofs are more meant for wholesale purposes. Per sqm pricing ranges from $500 to 1,000+ per sqm.

Fully Installed Systems

$1,000 – $2,000 + per m² including labour according to Hipages. Larger or premium builds can exceed typical ranges based on features, engineering and site prep.

Things to note when shopping around for louvre roofs:

  • At the lower end of price range, you will get lighter quality material. As you go up the range, generally quality gets better (up to a point).
  • Manual operation is cheaper then motorised; led lights also add to the costs in motorised version.
  • When buying blade width is important consideration. (wider blade means more gap -> more light in your living area and house.).
  • Double wall blades are stronger (no sagging), provides sound and climate insulation (less noisy in rain, less hot in summer).
  • Cheaper installation quote might not include all the costs at start and you could then end up with higher cost.

Comparing Louvre Roof Systems

Before we jump into costs of our louvre roof systems, when comparing different kits in the market, below are some of the things (apart from pricing, warranty etc) which are worth considering:

Size of posts and beams: bigger is better when it comes to posts and beams. This provides durability and strength to the structure. We provide market leading 150x150mm posts (2-3mm thick) and 200x150mm beams (2-3mm thick).

Louvre Blade Design: look for blades that are constructed with solid structure so they don’t start to sag after few years. Our louvre blades are 200x40mm wide (2-3mm thick) and constructed with dual wall design for added strength. This also provides better insulation from heat, cold and sound.

Parts: used for joining the louvre roof system are often overlooked but are quite important. They are integral for providing the strength and durability. Our louvre roof systems come with stainless steel parts providing added strength and durability.

Cost of our custom designed, motorized Louvre roof systems (supply only) generally ranges between 525-950 per sqm (plus GST) depending upon the model. To make it more affordable, we have now launched high quality, fixed size pergolas using same design and quality principles with price range between 395-490 (plus GST).

We have designed our kits with modern aesthetics which makes them great fit for any backyard. So, you ask how can we provide better product at lower price? Well, we don’t have the usual overheads of retail shop, storage etc and supply direct to the customer. It is certainly not an easy decision, be sure to checkout our ultimate guide on louvre roofs for handy info/tips.

  1. Hi, do your louvre roof systems need to go through council for approval?
We live in Noosa Qld and require a system that doesn’t need to go through council.
Do you know what makes a unit have to go through council? Is it based on being free standing or is it by size, we are looking at about 16.3 sq metres.
Can you advise on your system?
    Cheers Brian

    • Hi Brian,

Sorry for delayed response. Somehow we missed your comment.

Some councils allow free-standing louvre roof pergola’s up to certain size as a semi-permanent structure. But every council is different. It is best you check with your council.

      Thanks,
