Installation time will depend upon number of factors including the readiness of the area you are looking to install the louvre roof kit in. Size and level of experience with other DIY projects also plays major role. Assembly of kit requires 2-4 people depending upon the size and difficulty of installation. Please refer to our installation video for details of step involved in assembly of the kit.

Our louvre roof systems are made from high quality aluminium and steel parts. In addition, they have powder coated finish making them suitable for harsh Australian conditions.

Every council has different regulations and conditions you need to comply with. So, it is best you check with your respective council regarding planning, building permit requirements. Generally speaking anything above 10 sqm requires a permit in Victoria. Some of the other states might allow up to 20 sqm before a permit is required. Again, best to check with your council.

We can certainly provide relevant information including specifications to assist in your permit application. We provide technical drawing as part of the process which can be used to gain engineering certificate which is referred by different names in each e.g. Regulation 126 Certificate of Compliance in Victoria, Form 15 Design Certificate in Queensland, Certificate of Design Compliance in NSW). If required we can refer you to engineering firms we collaborate with.

Yes, electrician is required to connect the pergola motor, led lighting to suitable power point as per Australian regulations.

Our louvre roof systems have rain water drainage system so, you can use it during the rain. All our louvre roof systems have built-in gutter. So, when roof is closed, rain water is collected in the gutter which then can be drained via PVC pipes. These PVC pipes are located inside the posts requested by you during design. Furthermore, you can drain this water into storm water pit or garden via the outlet located at the bottom of the posts.

All our louvre roof kits are custom built to your specifications. In general, it takes around 8-10 weeks to deliver the kit once the order has been placed.

Suitable concrete foundation is recommended to anchor the posts. Please contact your architect or builder for further engineering specifications to ensure compliance with Australian safety and regulations.

Louvre roof system is an outdoor shading roof structure. Roof is made up of set of louvre blades which can be opened, closed or set to an desired angle. These can be operated manually or via a remote in motorized version. Common designs are:

  • Free-standing: is fully supported by the posts.
  • Semi-attached: is partially supported by the posts and partial support is provided by attaching it to other building structures e.g. building wall.
  • Insert: is fully supported by the building structure.

We use 6063 T5 which is has superior strength and suitable for architectural use in buildings.  In addition, we use steel for nuts, bolts and louvre rod for extra structural strength.
